The OnionAmerica’s Finest News Source started in Madison, WI in 1988 as way to distribute pizza coupons. Since then, it has grown to be the premier source for satire and paved the way for fake news to become a mainstream cultural phenomenon. Recently shutting down the print operations, The Onion is now an entirely web-based media platform and receives about 7.5 million individual viewers per month. The Onion is truly the best of its kind.

The Borowitz ReportWritten by comedian Andy Borowitz, the New Yorker column satirizes politics and business in daily 250-word essays. Borowitz created The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, produced Pleasantville, and performs stand-up comedy in New York. In a profile on CBS News Sunday Morning, he was called “one of the funniest people in America.”

The Daily CurrantThe Global Satirical Newspaper of Record covers global politics, business, technology, entertainment, science, health and media. Founded by Editor-In-Chief Daniel Barkeley in 2012, The Daily Currant takes a very dry approach to satire, which has caused many of its news articles to be taken as real.

Newslo: Newslo is the first hybrid News/Satire platform on the web that uniquely gives readers a “fact-button,” which allows readers to find out what is fact and what is satire. Also, they feature “No Need to Satire,” which highlights those real news stories that only seem too absurd to be true.

The Whiskey Journal: Based in Chicago, The Whiskey Journal is written by a team of comics and actors. The team also performs a live show on the first Wednesday of every month at The Lincoln Lodge in Chicago.
